Do you love anything and everything that is boxing? Are you desperate to know who's going to be fighting who in the next all star blockbuster area match? Do you want to know who's hurt or who's retiring? If any of this sounds like you, then check out Boxing Monthly. Boxing Monthly is a British magazine dedicated to……you guessed it, boxing. It is owned, edited and published by Glyn Leach and has several other contributors. Boxing Monthly was founded by Leach in 1989 and is a great buy if you want to get a little sneak peek before an upcoming fight. Leach in respected in his field because he isn't afraid to speak his mind in his editor's note at the beginning of each issue. Because some of the best boxers in the world come from the United States, Boxing Monthly makes sure that it has a full time writer based in the United States in order to stay abreast of what's happening across the Atlantic. Reporter Graham Houston is the United States based reporter and has been covering boxing matches for around 35 years. He writes with an exciting bright enthusiasm that makes me excited to read his articles. His work leaves me with sizzling anticipation for the big fight that's to come. Boxing Monthly has its featured articles but it also has regular sections that are in each monthly issue. There is a section in every magazine that is dedicated to following British boxers, a section that interviews some retired boxers to find out what they're doing now that they're no longer in the ring and a section that rates any boxing DVDs that are coming out. They also list their top ten picks in each weight class and provide you with a pretty detailed review of the boxer's stats.
If you live in the US and are interested in Boxing Monthly, don't fret, you can buy it online. Just remember that the pound is stronger than the dollar so you're going to pay for it. A yearly subscription is going to cost you around 44 pounds, in dollars that will come out to 80ish dollars. But if you want a magazine that maintains a sort of outspoken air of independence about it and if you want to get some really great previews of the upcoming fights, pick up Boxing Monthly. It will be worth the money for a true boxing enthusiast. |
