As boxing is a simple and challenging game, it attracts people to participate from long ago. The global appeal of the game is more superior than a large number of other sports. The Greeks and the Romans were fond of boxing and then it spreads all over the world gradually.

Using their fists two opponents is fighting each other in a boxing game. It is not a typical type of street fighting. It is a body contact game and for this reason there is a potential risk of getting hurt. A referee conducts the boxing game.

The boxing is played inside a makeshift boundary of rope, called as boxing ring. The ropes are flexible, steel posts are enclosed the four corners and the the platform is covered with synthetic padding. Two players have their own place of seating in two diagonal corner of the boxing ring. Coach and the staffs are not allowed to enter into the ring during match, only allowed during interval.

The fighting has spread into different rounds. Each round is determined of three-minutes. Maximum number of rounds can be played is 12. Generally, a minute is spent between each round allowing the component to discuss with their respective coach and to get necessary treatment from the physicians.

There are three designated rules for choosing the winner.

Rule 1:

If one participant become knocked out by the other and if he/she unable to get up before the 10seconds countdown made by the referee, the other participant become a winner.

Rule 2:

If a player become too weak to compete then the other one is declared as the winner.

Rule 3:

If the match would continue for an uncertain time, a winner is chosen either by judges' scorecard or by referee's decision.

For playing boxing, several boxing stuffs are needed. Although some of them are expensive, it is needed in order to keep secure the player from getting injury. As the game needed full body, contact is almost inevitable to take precautions.

Boxing Gloves: It is the most important Boxing stuffs needed to take part in boxing. The boxers wear it in their two fists in order to protect their hands from blunt injury and to secure bones of the hands. As the human body can persist a certain level of punch, the gloves secured the body from absurd and uncontrolled punches, which are frequent in boxing.

Ancient boxers do not have the gloves, it become effective from 19th century.

Mouth Guard:-

It is another important boxing stuff. It help protects the teethes from breaking. As a severe punch can damage a boxer's teeth, it is a very useful and must seek thing. It also protects the jaw of the boxer.

Helmets:-

An armour plate protects the head. As the human head is most sensitive part of the body and contains the brain, an active boxing stuff is most needed to ensure its security.

Clothing:-

The boxers in general wear a sleeveless shorts and a comfortable lower wear. In professional boxing, there is no short. In women, boxing a chest guard is used.

Footwear:-

Soft-soled shoes are most suited for boxing. It minimizes the risk of potential steeping on foot.

Nike, Adidas, Puma are well knowned MNC's who sells branded boxing shoes.

Beside that penis guard, abdomen guards etc are frequently used in todays boxing as additional utility Boxing stuffs.
