Heavyweight Boxers

             Nowadays World Heavyweight Boxing Championship is not a monopoly of USA. Specially, Ukraine and Russia are coming to the forefront of world boxing championship. One must remember the legendary heavyweight boxers of USA like Cassius Clay (Mohammed Ali). George Foremen, Stylish Floyd Patterson, and Mike Tyson. The big mouth Cassius Clay won the championship maximum number of times. There are four World Boxing organizations as listed below which organizes the year round boxing championship throughout the world.

            . International Boxing Organization (IBO)

            . World Boxing Association             (WBA)

            . World Boxing Council                   (WBC)

            . World Boxing Organization           (WBO)

Minimum weight of a heavy weight boxer category is 200 lbs. The four organizations as mentioned above conduct world boxing championship fight separately. Thus each year four heavyweight boxing titles are available to win. The current winners are as follows:

            . David Hayes of Britain WBA Heavyweight title since November 7 2009

            . Vitali Klitschko of Ukraine WBC Heavyweight title since October 11 2008

            . Wladimir Klitschko of Ukraine IBF Heavyweight title since April 22, 2006

            . Wladimir Klitschko of Ukraine WBO Heavyweight title since February 23, 2008

            Heavyweight Boxing competition had started at about 1885. Since 1885 USA has won about 90 Heavyweight Boxing titles that is 80% of the total. Mohammed Ali of USA has captured 6 heavyweight titles between 1964 and 1978. And Evander Holyfield of USA has won five world heavyweight titles. Mike Tyson is the next with 4 titles. But since 2007 USA has not won any single title out of 8 World Boxing titles. As per one opinion poll the top ten boxers of all times are listed below:

            . Jack Johnson    ;  71 wins, 40 KOs, 13 losses

            . Joe Frazier          ; 32 wins, 27 KOs, 4 losses

            . Mike Tyson        ; 50 wins, 44 KOs, 5 losses

            . Lenox Lewis       ; 41 wins, 32 KOs, 2 losses

            . Larry holmes       ;69 wins, 44 KOs, 6 losses

            . Floyd Patterson    ;5 wins, 40 KOs, 8 losses

            The present form of competitions conducted by four boxing organizations started since 1961. All of the world heavyweight fights are commercially organized through pay per view television networks and ticketed boxing stadiums. Next Heavyweight boxing world bout between Wladimir Klischko(current WBO and IBF champion) and Samuel Peter is scheduled on September 11, 2010 in Frankfurt, Germany.
